Dosage
Oral. Adultos: 300 mg (15 ml) cada 12 horas. Niños y adolescentes: 8 mg/kg de peso corporal cada 12 horas, hasta un máximo de 600 mg (30 ml). Oral. Adultos: Tomar una tableta cada 12 horas, combinada con otros antirretrovirales.
General information
Nucleósido análogo carbocíclico con actividad inhibitoria contra HIV. Intracelularmente se convierte en su metabolito activo que inhibe a la transcriptasa reversa incorporándose al ADN viral.
Pregnancy warnings
Existen efectos secundarios en fetos de animales de experimentación. No hay hasta el momento estudios adecuados en los seres humanos, por lo que se desconocen los riesgos de su utilización en mujeres embarazadas. LA TERAPIA MEDICAMENTOSA SÓLO ES VALIDA CUANDO EL PROBLEMA DE SALUD INDICA SIN LUGAR A DUDAS, LA NECESIDAD DE SU EMPLEO.
Precautions
Lactancia, insuficiencia hepática, obesidad.
Adverse effects
Fiebre, rash, fatiga, náusea, vómito, diarrea, hipotensión, acidosis láctica, esteatosis hepática.
