Dosage
Oral. Adultos y niños: 50 a 100 mg/kg de peso corporal/día cada 6 horas. Dosis máxima 4 g/día. Intramuscular, Intravenosa. Adultos y niños: 50 a 100 mg/kg de peso corporal/día, diluir dosis cada 6 horas. Dosis máxima 4 g/día.

Inhibe la síntesis bacteriana de proteínas, a nivel de la subunidad ribosomal 50S.
Pregnancy warnings
Existen efectos secundarios en fetos de animales de experimentación. No hay hasta el momento estudios adecuados en los seres humanos, por lo que se desconocen los riesgos de su utilización en mujeres embarazadas. LA TERAPIA MEDICAMENTOSA SÓLO ES VALIDA CUANDO EL PROBLEMA DE SALUD INDICA SIN LUGAR A DUDAS, LA NECESIDAD DE SU EMPLEO.
Adverse effects
Náusea, vómito, diarrea, cefalea, confusión; anemia aplástica. En recién nacidos “síndrome gris”.
