Dosage
Oral. Adultos: 400 mg cada 8 horas.
General information
Antibiótico no absorbible, de amplio espectro, para Gram positivos y Gram negativos, aerobios y anaerobios, reduce la producción de amoníaco por las bacterias intestinales y la hiperamonemia en cualquier grado de encefalopatía hepática.
Pregnancy warnings
Existen efectos secundarios en fetos de animales de experimentación. No hay hasta el momento estudios adecuados en los seres humanos, por lo que se desconocen los riesgos de su utilización en mujeres embarazadas. Mareo, cefalea, estreñimiento, dolor y distensión abdominal, diarrea, flatulencia, náuseas, tenesmo rectal, urgencia de evacuación, vómitos, pirexia.
