Dosage
Intravenosa. Adultos y niños con más de 50 kg de peso corporal: 500 mg a 2 g cada 8 horas. Niños mayores de 3 meses hasta 50 kg de peso corporal. 20 a 40 mg/kg de peso corporal, cada 8 horas. Dosis máxima: 2 g cada 8 horas. Administrar diluido en soluciones intravenosas envasadas en frascos de vidrio.
General information
Inhibe la síntesis de la pared bacteriana.
Pregnancy warnings
Sin riesgo para el feto. Se carece de estudios clínicos adecuados para mujeres embarazadas.
Precautions
Ajustar la dosis de acuerdo a la función renal; en infusión, no mezclarlo con otros medicamentos.
Adverse effects
Tromboflebitis, prurito, urticaria, dolor abdominal, náusea, vómito, diarrea, colitis pseudomembranosa, cefalea, convulsiones y candidiasis.
