Intravenosa. Adultos y ancianos menores de 65 años: 300 mg cada 28 días.
General information
El natalizumab es un inhibidor selectivo de las moléculas de adhesión y se une a la subunidad alfa 4 de las integrinas humanas, profusamente expresada en la superficie de todos los leucocito, con lo cual bloquea a su receptor análogo, la molécula de adhesión a las células vasculares 1, evitando la migración del linfocito a través del endotelio al tejido inflamado.
Pregnancy warnings
Existen efectos secundarios en fetos de animales de experimentación. No hay hasta el momento estudios adecuados en los seres humanos, por lo que se desconocen los riesgos de su utilización en mujeres embarazadas. LA TERAPIA MEDICAMENTOSA SÓLO ES VALIDA CUANDO EL PROBLEMA DE SALUD INDICA SIN LUGAR A DUDAS, LA NECESIDAD DE SU EMPLEO.
Precautions
Suspender el tratamiento ante la sospecha de leucoencefalopatía multifocal progresiva. Suspender medicamentos inmunosupresores por un tiempo razonable antes de iniciar natalizumab.
Adverse effects
Cefalea, mareo, vómito, náusea, artralgia, infección urinaria, faringitis, rinitis, escalofríos, temblor, fiebre, fatiga, urticaria.
