Dosage
Oral. Adultos: Iniciar: 2 a 4 g al día, fraccionadas cada 6 horas. Sostén: 2 a 6 g diarias, fraccionadas cada 6 horas. Niños mayores de 2 años: Iniciar con 40 a 60 mg/kg de peso corporal/día divididos en dosis cada 4 a 8 horas, continuar con 30 mg/kg de peso corporal diarios, en dosis dividida cada 6 horas.
General information
El modo de acción de SSZ o sus metabolitos 5-AAS y SP todavía está en investigación pero puede estar relacionado con las propiedades antiinflamatorias e inmunomoduladoras que se han observado en animales y en modelos in-vitro.
Pregnancy warnings
Sin riesgo para el feto. Se carece de estudios clínicos adecuados para mujeres embarazadas.
Precautions
Disfunción hepática o renal, asma bronquial.
Adverse effects
Náusea, vómito, diarrea, cefalea, hepatotoxicidad y nefrotoxicidad, eritema multiforme, dermatitis, oligospermia.
