Dosage
Oral Adultos y niños mayores de 12 años de edad: Dosis de inicio 75 mg cada 12 horas con o sin alimentos. Si es bien tolerada, mantener esta dosis a largo plazo.
General information
Pregabalina se une a la subunidad auxiliar (proteína α2-δ) en las entradas del voltaje de los canales de calcio en el sistema nervioso central, desplazando potencialmente a [3H]-gabapentina. Dos líneas de evidencia indican que la unión de pregabalina al sitio α2 se requiere para la actividad analgésica y anticonvulsiva. Además pregabalina reduce la liberación de varios neuro-transmisores incluyendo glutamato, noradrenalina y sustancia P.
Pregnancy warnings
Son evidentes las anormalidades en fetos humanos. Deben prevalecer los factores de riesgo, sobre los pretendidos “beneficios” del fármaco a prescribir. Contraindicado en el embarazo.
Precautions

Adverse effects
Mareo, somnolencia, edema periférico, infección, boca seca y aumento de peso.
