Dosage

Oral. 1400 mg cada 12 horas sin combinar con ritonavir, ó 1400 mg cada 24 horas con 200 mg de ritonavir.

General information

El fosamprenavir es la pro-droga del amprenavir. El amprenavir es un inhibidor competitivo no peptídico, de la proteasa del VIH. Interfiere con la capacidad de la proteasa viral para romper las poliproteínas precursoras necesarias para la replicación viral.

Pregnancy warnings

Existen efectos secundarios en fetos de animales de experimentación. No hay hasta el momento estudios adecuados en los seres humanos, por lo que se desconocen los riesgos de su utilización en mujeres embarazadas. LA TERAPIA MEDICAMENTOSA SÓLO ES VALIDA CUANDO EL PROBLEMA DE SALUD INDICA SIN LUGAR A DUDAS, LA NECESIDAD DE SU EMPLEO.

Adverse effects

Náusea, vómito, diarrea, cefaleas exantema.
