Dosage
Oral. Adultos mayores de 18 años: 300 mg cada 24 horas.
General information
Es un nucleósido acíclico diester fosfonato análogo del monofosfato de adenosina. Inhibe la actividad de la transcriptasa reversa del VIH-1. Lo anterior impide que continúe la elongación del DNA y en consecuencia el crecimiento del DNA viral.
Pregnancy warnings
Sin riesgo para el feto. Se carece de estudios clínicos adecuados para mujeres embarazadas.
Precautions
Falla renal, disfunción hepática, hepatitis.
Adverse effects
Náusea, diarrea, astenia, vómito, flatulencia, mareo, rash, acidosis lactica, esteatosis hepática, hepatotoxicidad, hepatomegalia, falla renal, pancreatitis, osteomalacia.
