Dosage
Oral. Adultos: Preoperatorio: 1g cada hora (4 dosis) y después 1 g cada 4 horas, el día anterior a la cirugía. Encefalopatía hepática: 1 a 3 g cada 6 horas.

Inhibe la síntesis de proteínas por unión directa con la subunidad 30S del ribosoma.
Pregnancy warnings
Existen efectos secundarios en fetos de animales de experimentación. No hay hasta el momento estudios adecuados en los seres humanos, por lo que se desconocen los riesgos de su utilización en mujeres embarazadas. Precautions
Insuficiencia renal, colitis ulcerativa.
Adverse effects
Cefalea, letargo, ototoxocidad, náusea, vómito. nefrotoxicidad, exantema, urticaria.
