General information
Solución estéril que contiene cloruro de sodio y glucosa. Los requerimientos diarios de sodio y cloro son respectivamente de 80 y 100 mEq. Un gramo de NaCl proporciona 17.1 mEq de ambos iones; mientras que cada gramo de glucosa es fuente de 4 calorías y ayuda a disminuir la pérdida excesiva de Na+ y la producción de cuerpos cetónicos.
Pregnancy warnings
No hay riesgo para el feto en el primer trimestre del embarazo. No hay pruebas de riesgo en los últimos trimestres del embarazo.
Adverse effects
Hiperosmolaridad, acidosis hiperclorémica. Lesiones locales por mala administración, hipernatremia, edema.
