Dosage
Intramuscular o intravenosa lenta. Adultos: 10 a 250 mg cada 4 horas. Inicial: 30 mg/kg. Mantenimiento: De acuerdo a cada caso particular. Niños: De 1 A 2 mg/kg/día, dividir o fraccionar en cuatro tomas. Intramuscular, intraarticular, intralesional. Adultos: Intramuscular: 10 a 80 mg/día. Intraarticular: 40 a 80 mg cada 1 a 5 semanas. Intralesional: 20 a 60 mg.
General information
Glucocorticoide que inhibe a la fosfolipasa A2, por lo tanto inhibe la síntesis de prostaglandinas, tromboxanos y leucotrienos.
Pregnancy warnings
Existen efectos secundarios en fetos de animales de experimentación. No hay hasta el momento estudios adecuados en los seres humanos, por lo que se desconocen los riesgos de su utilización en mujeres embarazadas. LA TERAPIA MEDICAMENTOSA SÓLO ES VALIDA CUANDO EL PROBLEMA DE SALUD INDICA SIN LUGAR A DUDAS, LA NECESIDAD DE SU EMPLEO.
Adverse effects
Catarata subcapsular posterior, hipoplasia suprarrenal, síndrome de Cushing, obesidad, osteoporosis, gastritis, superinfecciones, glaucoma, coma hiperosmolar, hiperglucemia, catabolismo muscular, cicatrización retardada, retraso en el crecimiento y trastornos hidroelectrolíticos.
