Dosage
Intravenosa. Adultos y niños: En la enfermedad de Hodgkin 150 mg/m2 de superficie corporal /día por cinco días y repetir cada tres semanas. En el melanoma maligno 2 a 4.5 mg/kg de peso corporal ó 70 a 160 mg/m2 de superficie corporal /día, por diez días, después repetir cada cuatro semanas según tolerancia. La dosis debe ajustarse a juicio del especialista.
General information
Entrecruza las tiras de DNA celular e interfiere en la transcripción de RNA, causando un desequilibrio que conduce a muerte celular. Es inespecífica del ciclo celular.
Pregnancy warnings
Existen efectos secundarios en fetos de animales de experimentación. No hay hasta el momento estudios adecuados en los seres humanos, por lo que se desconocen los riesgos de su utilización en mujeres embarazadas. LA TERAPIA MEDICAMENTOSA SÓLO ES VALIDA CUANDO EL PROBLEMA DE SALUD INDICA SIN LUGAR A DUDAS, LA NECESIDAD DE SU EMPLEO.
Precautions
Utilizar con precaución en pacientes con función renal o hepática disminuida, o con alteraciones en la médula ósea.
Adverse effects
Anorexia, náusea, vómito intenso que comienza una hora después de la administración y dura doce horas. Leucopenia y trombocitopenia, neurotoxicidad, fototoxicidad, aumento de enzimas hepáticas. Dolor muy intenso si se infiltra la solución. Alopecia y en ocasiones síndrome catarral.
