Dosage
Oral. Adultos: 1 g cada 6 u 8 horas. Niños: Menores de 5 años: 50 mg/kg de peso corporal/día dividir dosis cada 6 horas. De 6 a 12 años: 500 mg cada 6 horas.

Antiséptico urinario que debe su acción a su metabolito activo formaldehído.

Existen efectos secundarios en fetos de animales de experimentación. No hay hasta el momento estudios adecuados en los seres humanos, por lo que se desconocen los riesgos de su utilización en mujeres embarazadas.
