DOSAGE AND GENERAL INFORMATION

Dosage

Oral. Adultos y niños mayores de 5 años: Esquistosomiasis: 20 mg/kg de peso corporal/día, dividido en dosis, cada 8 horas. Cisticercosis: 50 mg/kg de peso corporal/día, dividido en dosis cada 8 horas por 3 semanas. Trematodiasis: 25 mg/kg de peso corporal/día, dividir dosis cada 8 horas, durante 8 días. Cestodiasis: 50 mg/kg de peso corporal /día, dividir dosis cada 8 horas por 14 días.

General information

Causa parálisis espástica, debido al pasaje del calcio al interior del parásito, inhibiendo además su captación de glucosa.

Pregnancy warnings

Sin riesgo para el feto. Se carece de estudios clínicos adecuados para mujeres embarazadas.

Adverse effects

Somnolencia, cefalea, vértigo, náusea, fiebre, exantemas, inflamación alrededor del cisticerco.
